Donors who fund places for young people who could not otherwise reach a course. Almost every young person on a community programme is there because somebody else paid for their place, their food, their transport and their gear. Outward Bound South Africa is a registered non-profit with Section 18A status, so donors receive the documentation their reporting requires. Find out how to donate to Outward Bound. Whether you give once or every year, a donation goes straight to young people on the ground.
Organisations we deliver alongside, from youth development programmes to government and corporate social investment partners. Outward Bound partners help us raise funds, reach young people and run programmes close to the communities they serve. Because our instructors and equipment travel, we can run a programme in a partner’s host community rather than asking young people to come to us. We are a member of Outward Bound International, and every programme follows its safety standards.
Community organisations and schools whose young people come to us through a funded place. In August 2026 alone, support received from Canada funded four programmes at Willow Point in Sedgefield, reaching 76 young people through outdoor experiential learning. Each funded place creates access to outdoor education for a young person who may not otherwise have had the opportunity.
Beneficiary organisations range from safe houses and learning centres to sports clubs and community groups. We work with each one to choose the right course, the right venue and the right time of year, and we report back to the funder on what the young people achieved.
